Nicole M. Vazquez Miralla, MBA, IBCLC

Nicole is a bilingual International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and childbirth educator.

Nicole was inspired to pursue a career shift from Finance to Lactation after nursing her three daughters for over 7 years and overcoming many challenges. She trained for 2 years in lactation and graduated as a Lactation Counselor in 2019. She then continued her training as a childbirth educator and a Breastfeeding USA Accredited Breastfeeding Counselor. She provided in-home lactation support to the Upstate homebirth community before joining Nourish in 2020. She has completed the Tethered Oral Tissues specialty training (TOTS®) in 2020 and the specialty training IBCLC Master Class®: Oral Habilitation of the Breastfeeding Dyad in 2022. She’s also a Certified Munchee/Bebe Munchee provider.

Nicole is passionate about supporting parents in a compassionate, respectful, multicultural and inclusive setting, and provides all services in both English and Spanish. She enjoys helping parents learn natural breastfeeding methods, and has a special interest in tethered oral tissues, complex oral motor function, oral function habilitation, and supply management. She leads Nourish’s prenatal education program and loves helping expecting families establish a game plan to successfully meet their infant feeding goals. Nicole was actively involved with various organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing free translation and educational publications for local Latin communities, as well as auditing Spanish breastfeeding training courses for Spanish-speaking hospital staff. She volunteers her free time with several breastfeeding organizations, providing organizational and community outreach support.

Nicole was born and raised in the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico, and lives in Roebuck with her husband, their three girls and their fluffy Havanese.
